2011 Family Boat Search

Our first annual Family Boat Search is in the books! What a fun project it was! We are definately looking forward to the next contest!
The 2011 Cruising Northwest Family Boat of the Year is...

Pisces

By Debbie Picot Foote and Gordon Foote

Our family boat has been part of the family from the first day it was trucked to Seattle from the Chris Craft plant in Michigan. She was bought from Chris Craft of Seattle by Robert N Picot (my dad) in 1967. She was named " Pisces" (Pisces was my mother's zodiac sign) She is a 40' Chris Craft, Constellation model (shorten to Connie). This would be the third and final Chris Craft that Robert Picot would own. She is still in the family and her home has always been Queen City Yacht Club, Dock 1, Seattle, Wa. We cruised as a family every summer to the San Juan Islands and Canada. Favorite haunts would be Roche Harbor, Telegraph Harbor, Victoria, Maple Bay and Nanimo. When my dad became too ill to take care of the boat, my husband & I asked if we could use the boat if we took care of her. No sooner had we said those words he tossed us the keys! I think I saw a small tear form in the corner of his eye. We got her a repainted, re chromed, new fore ward deck , new keel, and lots of love! Robert is gone now, but the grand kids and now the great grand kids are enjoying going out on the Pisces cruising Puget Sound and beyond.

Cruising NW would like to extend a big thank you to the Foote and Picot families for sharing the Pisces story with us!

Debbie and Gordon currently manage Bob Picot Industries, if you need custom boat canvas, sailboat dodgers, pilot seats, drapes or interiors the do it very well!

The Picot Family established this business in 1948 and are very active today in the boating community.
